What is a Personal Buddy?+
A made-to-order 3D-printed desk companion with real electronics inside. It shows the time, runs alarms, reads the room, glows, and wears an animated face. You choose the body, colours, features, and personality.
Is it functional?+
Yes. It is not a statue. It keeps time, sounds alarms, measures temperature and humidity, and reacts to touch on the higher tiers. Every unit passes a factory self-test before it ships.
Can I customize the colour?+
Yes. Eight stock colours are included, and a custom colour match is a $12 add-on. Custom colours are matched as close as the filament range allows, and we confirm the match with you before printing.
Can I choose what it says?+
On Premium and above, yes. You can set custom messages and schedules, like a reminder at 8 AM. This feature is in pre-order while its firmware finishes factory testing.
Does it connect to Wi-Fi?+
Smart and above include Wi-Fi, used for time sync and weather. The clock, alarm, animations, and sensors all work fully offline.
Does it need to stay plugged in?+
Yes. Buddies run on USB-C power and are designed as desk companions, not portable gadgets. A certified 5V/3A supply is available as an add-on.
Can I use it without Wi-Fi?+
Yes. Clock, alarm, timer, animations, temperature, and humidity all work offline. Only time sync and weather need a connection.
Can I choose the character?+
Yes. Eight body styles: Robot, Cat, Dog, Alien, Gamer, Space, Love, or fully custom. The configurator shows the price effect of each choice live.
Can you make a completely custom design?+
Yes. The Custom tier starts at $399 and begins with a quote. A human reviews every custom request, and nothing is charged until you approve the design and the price.
How long does it take?+
Buddies are made to order. Current lead time is 2 to 3 weeks from approved configuration to shipping or pickup. [CONFIRM: lead time]
Do you ship across Canada?+
Yes. Canada-wide shipping with tracking. Shipping is calculated before payment, and Halifax pickup is free by appointment.
Can I pick it up in Halifax?+
Yes, pickup in Halifax is free and by appointment. We will never publish a home address; pickup details are arranged by email. [CONFIRM: pickup arrangement]
Do you offer refunds?+
Because each Buddy is made to order for you, we accept returns for defects and dead-on-arrival units within 14 days. Custom designs are final once you approve them, unless we fail to deliver what was agreed. [CONFIRM: return policy]
What happens if it stops working?+
Every Buddy carries a 12-month limited warranty covering parts and labour for manufacturing defects. Contact support and a human will help you troubleshoot or arrange a repair. [CONFIRM: warranty length]
Can I buy replacement parts?+
Yes. A spare parts kit is a $18 add-on, and individual parts are available through support. The body is 3D printed, so cosmetic parts can be reprinted on request.
